The Bayten Buitenverwachting Sauvignon Blanc 2020 is a remarkable white wine, renowned for its elegant and mineral-tinged profile.

The Bayten Sauvignon Blanc is especially noted for its Sancerre-like flavors and nuances, offering a crisp, lively, and bone-dry experience. It tantalizes the palate with a blend of exotic citrus, green fig, guava, lime leaf, and sugar snap pea flavors, while the aroma carries green herbs, bell pepper, gooseberry, lime, chalk, and flint.

Crafted by Bayten, a winery celebrated for its expertise in Sauvignon Blanc, this wine offers exceptional value and has garnered accolades for being a "Best Buy"/"Best Value." It features vibrant, zesty flavors of passion fruit, melon, kiwi, and lime, complemented by herbal notes and a distinct mineral edge, embodying the elegance characteristic of cool climate Sauvignon Blancs.

Originating from the esteemed Bayten estate in South Africa, located on the east-facing slopes of the Constantiaberg mountain near Cape Town, this wine benefits from the region's cool-climate coastal conditions, ideal for producing white wines with intense minerality.

This wine is a product of meticulous winemaking, with the grapes being dry-farmed in rocky soils, then fermented in stainless steel and aged on fine lees for three months. The result is a superb Southern Hemisphere Sauvignon Blanc, distinguished by its craftsmanship and flavor profile.

The Bayten estate, with a history dating back to 1773, underwent significant renovations and replanting in 1982. Currently, it is owned and operated by Lars Maack and the Mueller family, with winemaking overseen by Hermann Kirschbaum, a renowned maker of white wines in South Africa.
